We want you to love your Scout. We have designed it to be rugged and as close to indestructible as we can manage. But buried under that pretty exterior, Scout has some of the world’s most sophisticated electronics for location and tracking. So it can be mortal.

We provide a standard 12 month manufacturer’s limited warranty on your Scout. Subject to the terms and conditions set forth below, we will replace (to the person or entity that originally purchased the Scout) any Scout which ceases to work due to defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Normal use includes using Scout in inclement weather and around water. But Scout isn’t fully waterproof. The Warranty does not apply to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, liquid contact, fire, or other external cause. If we determine that your Scout is defective, we will either repair or replace it with either a new or rebuilt Scout, at our option, at no charge to you.  We want you to love your Scout.

To return a Scout for service or replacement, first contact us for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Send us an email to service@findmyscout.com notating “Warranty Return” in the subject field. A member of the Scout team may contact you to attempt to troubleshoot a warranty-related problem prior to issuing an RMA number. Once an RMA number is obtained, ship your Scout in either the original packaging or packaging affording an equal degree of protection, to the Scout authorized Customer Service facility identified by the Customer Support team member.

You may also use the online submission form to request an RMA number by visiting www.findmyscout.com/support. Please provide the following information with your request: (a) Scout serial number, (b) return shipping address (P.O. boxes are not accepted), and (c) problem description.

Except for this limited Warranty, Scout makes no warranty as to the products, expressed or implied, including but not limited to the warranty of fitness for any particular purpose, accessibility and availability.

The fine print: Any provision of this Warranty that is prohibited or unenforceable in any jurisdiction will, as to that jurisdiction, be ineffective to the extent of the prohibition or unenforceability without invalidating the remaining provisions of the Warranty. Such prohibited or unenforceable provision will be interpreted as closely as legally possible to the original sense and purpose of such provision. Any prohibition or unenforceability in any jurisdiction will not invalidate or render unenforceable that provision in any other jurisdiction. The Warranty shall be governed by the laws of Delaware in the United States and will be interpreted according to that law, without prejudice to any other mandatory rule prevailing in your country of habitual residence.
