Follow These Steps To Set Up Your New Scout

Adding Your Scout To Your App

This part can be a little tricky sometimes. Here’s a video to help you get your Scout connected to your findmyscout app.

  • Download The App

    Once you’ve completed the form and purchased your service plan, visit the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and search for the “Findmyscout” app and install it on your phone or tablet.

  • Add Your Scout To The App

    Create a username and password to log into the app. Once in the app select “List” in the top right corner. On the next screen choose “Add Scout”. You can either manually enter the 12-character QR code or use the QR code reader option.

  • Configure Your Scout’s Settings

    Inside the app you can configure all of the Scout’s settings including reporting rate, alarm sounds and even create your zones. You can read more on configuring these settings HERE

  • Go Outside

    Although GPS can work indoors, to ensure a strong initial GPS lock place your Scout on a flat surface outside with a clear view of the sky.

  • Turn on your Scout and get a GPS lock

    Using a pen or paper clip, turn on the Scout by pushing the power button located on the bottom of the scout to the right of the micro USB charging port. This will make adding it to the app easier as it takes several minutes to achieve it’s first GPS lock. Once the three LED lights on the left  blink in unison, Scout has a GPS lock.

  • Locate The Scout

    Now that the Scout is added to the account and has good GPS and cell lock, press the “locate” or “live track” button in the app. The Scout should appear as a red dot or Scout icon depending on your device.
